Pastor Jay Brown
Abundant Life
“Israel: The Promise and the Plan”

Experience & Encounter

(These questions are an invitation to experience your life with God. Use them on your own or in community as you seek to follow Jesus.)

  1. What is your usual reaction to current events – great interest?  Indifference?  Do you try to tune them out?  Look for ways to discern what God may be doing through what is happening in the world.
  2. Are you living your life with an alertness toward the impending return of Jesus?  Or are you asleep to the spiritual dynamics going on around you?
  3. Use the opportunity of these days to seek out resources to help you better understand the relationship of the Church to Israel – and to thank God that He has given you a place in His grand unfolding plan of salvation.

Partnership Class TODAY

At King Street Church, we call our members “partners” because they commit to partner in the work that God is doing in and through our church. If you are interested in becoming a partner of KSC, or would like to know more about partnership, plan to attend BOTH classes: April 21 (today!) and April 28 at 11:00 am in Team Central (located in the main hallway).

Prayer Tables

We believe that God works powerfully through prayer.  TODAY there is a table in each of our worship spaces and you’re invited to use it to take or leave a Prayer Card.  If you have a REQUEST that you’d like us to pray for, please fill out the card and leave it on the table (you do not have to provide your name.)  As always, you can submit a request to our online Prayer Wall at kingstreetchurch.com/pray, or text “pray” to (717) 401-7777.

If My People Prayer Group

Join a team here at KSC that is committed to praying for revival in our families, our church, community, nation, and world. We meet on the second and fourth Mondays of every month, including tomorrow, April 22, at 7:00 pm in M21.

Mass Choir

Singers of all ages and abilities are invited to join us for our next mass choir!  The choir will be singing at all services on Sunday, April 28.  Rehearsal is Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 pm. We ask you to register ONLINE HERE so we can email you a practice packet in advance and plan spacing on the stage.  The ability to read music or sing harmony is not necessary!  You’ll get an audio recording of your part.  If you have questions, contact Bekah.

National Day of Prayer

You’re invited to join us on Thursday, May 2, for a Day of Prayer.  The church sanctuary will be open from 11:00 am-3:00 pm for a time of private reflection and prayer. Those wishing to participate can come and go as they wish during this time frame. There is no structured program but we will offer flyers with suggested prayers for areas such as the church, family, military, media, and the workplace.

Child Dedication

Child Dedication is an opportunity for parents to commit to raising their children in the Lord. Our next dedications will occur on Sunday, June 2.  Those interested in taking part should attend one informational meeting: either Sunday, May 5 or Sunday, May 12 at 11:00 am in M221.  Parents, sign up at kingstreetchurch.com/kids.

KSC Golf League

The KSC Golf League meets on Tuesday nights at Conocodell Golf Course, beginning Monday, May 6, and concluding the last Tuesday of August. Walking rates are $13.00 for 9 holes; $11.00 for seniors. The cart fee is $8.00. Tee time is 5:30 pm. The league is open to anyone; bring a friend or neighbor. A weekly format will be passed out. Questions, email Jim Byers or call (717) 372-9742.

Baptism Class

Baptism is an important step in the life of a believer. Our next baptismal service will be at our All-Church Outdoor Service on Sunday, May 19.  If you would like to be baptized, or would like to learn more about baptism, attend a meeting on Sunday, May 5, at 11:00 am in Team Central (in the central hallway).  Part of the process is to write out your testimony and describe how you came to know Jesus.  Filming is on May 12.  Questions, contact Marsha Spangler.

All-Church Outdoor Service

Our All-Church Service is on Sunday, May 19, at 10:00 am.  We’re excited to come together as one large church body to worship God, hear a message from the Word of God, and celebrate baptisms. Bring a chair and join us in the Baker Center parking lot; this special service will replace our normal Sunday schedule. We’ve invited food trucks to join us on site after worship, so we encourage you to stay for lunch and connect with others.

New Summer Worship Schedule

Beginning Sunday, May 26 (Memorial Day weekend), we are going to begin a new summer worship schedule. For 13 weeks during June, July, and August, we will meet just once per hour on Sundays:

  • 8:00 am – Sanctuary (Traditional)

RESET on Monday Nights

RESET is a worship service and support system that lifts up Jesus as our hope in the messiness of life. It’s a safe place to heal, to grow, to start over, and to thrive.  We are a community that admits our issues and works on them together. We meet on Monday nights:  worship at 6:30 pm and open share groups at 7:00 pm.

The choir is always open to more singers! All ages are welcomed and encouraged. The choir is scheduled to sing on the second and fourth Sundays of Jan/Feb/Mar.  Practice is one hour long on Tuesday evenings, starting at 7:00 pm. The Choir Room (M7) is located directly under the front of the sanctuary, one floor down. Please come and give it a try!

Bible Reading Plan 2024: New Testament

It is important to read the Bible daily, and that is why we offer an annual Bible Reading Plan.  If you have never participated in the plan, we encourage you to join the more than 400 people who use these readings as part of their daily devotions.  If you are not already signed up to receive daily readings to your email inbox, sign up at bible.kingstreetchurch.com.  You can also receive daily text readings by texting DAILY to 717-401-7777.  A paper guide is available in the lobbies or right here:  New Testament 2024 Bible Reading Plan (pdf download)

Weekend Preview Emails

Most weeks, we send out a church email called the Weekend Preview which highlights a key event, ministry, or an element of upcoming worship services.  Often the information shared in this email is not offered elsewhere.  If you would like to receive the Weekend Preview, sign up here or text keyword PREVIEW to (717) 401-7777.
