WELCOME!
The Porch is the young adult ministry at King Street Church. We welcome all young adults to get connected, even if you’re not an attender of King Street Church. We come from different backgrounds and life experiences, but what we share is a desire to build authentic community and grow in our faith and affection for Jesus Christ (Phil. 2:1-11).
GATHERINGS
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month in the Student Ministry Center from 7-9PM; enter through the Baker Center lobby (Door #4 and go down the stairs). At these gatherings, we seek to build relationships, share life together, and gain practical and applicable insight from God’s Word to apply to our lives.
COMMUNITY
Small Groups
We also have opportunities to build deeper community in gender-specific discipleship groups on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. In addition to community, the main focus of these groups is to dig into God’s Word and study other Biblical-centered books & devotionals that will help us to become more equipped disciples of Jesus Christ! The group meeting locations can change, so if you are interested in joining a group: contact the email address listed below.

Summer Series
Things Jesus Never Said is our summer series! We will be wrapping up this series at our large gathering on Thursday, August 21st at 7pm in the Student Ministry Center.
These days it’s easy to see life the way we want to. We can filter our images, pick the news we want to hear, and listen only to the viewpoints that agree with us. When we do that, we start to distort our view of the world. The same thing can happen to our view of God. We reshape our perception of Him into what we want to believe, or what we want to think about others. Jesus came to bring us the truth about God and His plan for us, and it doesn’t always sound like what you may think.

The Porch Retreat
Join us for a fall mountain weekend as we travel to Three Springs Ministries in Morris, PA on October 10-12. We will plan to leave the church at 4pm on Friday, October 10th (the camp is about 3 hrs. and 10 mins away) and return home around 3pm (traffic depending) on Sunday, October 12th.
We’ll be staying in 3 different cabins (The Stablehouse, The Bunkhouse, and The Coop) that each include bedrooms, kitchen, living space, and a bathroom.
Our prayer for this week is that it would be time for us to disconnect from the world and have a much needed weekend of slowness and time spent with God. Most of our mornings after breakfast will be spent praying, reflecting, journaling, and being in solitude with the Lord. Afternoons are free do activities around the camp and hang out together. Evenings we will gather together for some campfire worship and to reflect on our day.
Registration deadline is Thursday, September 18th. The cost is $100 per person. This covers travel, lodging, program costs, and meals at the camp (You are responsible for buying meals/snacks on our travel days).
There are only 25 spots for this trip! If spots fill and you’d like to be added to a waitlist, please let us know.

Serve September
During the month of September, our large gatherings will be spent serving our community outside of the church building. Join us for Serve September on September 4th and 18th.
September 4th: We will be serving alongside Fruitbelt Farm Workers.
Fruitbelt ministers to migrant farm workers who are often isolated, working long hours, and away from their families.
Our group will bring snacks, drinks, and games and spend time hanging out with the workers of LadyMoon Farms in St. Thomas. Please contact us for more information or keep an eye out on our social media for details about time and address!
September 18th: Project will be announced soon!

Small Group Kickoff
Fall kickoff for small groups is on September 11th! Both guys and girls groups will go through a study together as they build community. Small groups meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 7pm.
On September 11th, both groups will meet at King Street Church at 7pm. We will continue meeting in homes in following weeks.
