Bishop Todd Fetters
Abundant Life
“Let the Wind Blow”

Experience & Encounter

(These questions are an invitation to experience your life with God. Use them on your own or in community as you seek to follow Jesus.)

  1. In what ways can you point to the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life? What characteristic(s) of the Fruit of the Spirit do you desire most right now?
  2. How has the Holy Spirit helped you relate with your Christian brothers and sisters? What “one another” is the Spirit calling you to do and with whom?
  3. How is the Holy Spirit making you aware of the spiritual hunger within those around you? With whom is He nudging you to pray for and/or be present with?

Special Speaker

Today we welcome Bishop Todd Fetters as he shares God’s Word in each of our worship services.  Bishop Fetters served as a pastor for 24 years before accepting his current leadership role in the United Brethren in Christ denomination, of which King Street Church is part.

Prayer Tables

We believe that God works powerfully through prayer.  TODAY there is a table in each of our worship spaces and you’re invited to use it to share a personal request.  If you have a REQUEST or PRAISE that you’d like us to pray for, please fill out the card and leave it on the table (you do not have to provide your name.)  As always, you can submit a request to our online Prayer Wall at kingstreetchurch.com/pray, or text “pray” to (717) 401-7777.

Child Dedication

Child Dedication is an opportunity for parents to commit to raising their children in the Lord. Our next dedications will occur on Sunday, June 2.  Those interested in taking part should attend one informational meeting: either TODAY or Sunday, May 12 at 11:00 am in M221.  Parents, sign up at kingstreetchurch.com/kids.

Baptism Class TODAY

Baptism is an important step in the life of a believer. Our next baptismal service will be at our All-Church Outdoor Service on Sunday, May 19.  If you would like to be baptized, or would like to learn more about baptism, attend a meeting today at 11:00 am in Team Central (in the central hallway).  Questions, contact Marsha Spangler.

Women’s Night of Prayer & Fellowship

Ladies, you’re invited to an hour of prayer and multi-generational fellowship for all women of King Street ages 16+.  We will meet on Thursday, May 9, from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Middle School Room. The time will include Christ-centered songs, a short exhortation that encourages the pursuit of Christlikeness, and prayer together in a space that fosters multi-generational community and discipleship as described in Titus 2.

KSC Golf League

The KSC Golf League meets on Tuesday nights at Conocodell Golf Course, beginning Tuesday, May 7, and concluding the last Tuesday of August. Walking rates are $13.00 for 9 holes; $11.00 for seniors. The cart fee is $8.00. Tee time is 5:30 pm. The league is open to anyone; bring a friend or neighbor. A weekly format will be passed out. Questions, email Jim Byers or call (717) 372-9742.

Vacation Bible School: June 23-26
Now recruiting volunteers!!

TODAY we invite members of our church family to register to serve as a Crew Leader or in other serving roles. Please consider being part of this amazing adventure: visit the tables in the lobbies or sign up at kingstreetchurch.com/vbs.

VBS will be June 23-26 and includes ages 4 through completion of 5th grade.  The theme is Breaker Rock Beach, God’s rock-solid truth in a world of shifting sands (Romans 12:2).  Kids will be challenged as they discover that God’s truth never changes, everyone needs Jesus, and learn to speak the truth in love. Adventure awaits each day as kids explore tide pools, spot orcas, fly kites, and watch the mighty waves crash up against the immovable Breaker Rock! (Registration for kids begins later in May.)

Graduates

One of our favorite traditions is honoring our graduates. High school and undergrad students who wish to be included should forward a digital picture (preferably a senior photo or high quality image) to Lauren Zook. Include details about what school you have graduated from and any future plans. The deadline to submit is Monday, May 13; Graduation Sunday is June 2.

All-Church Outdoor Service

Our All-Church Service is on Sunday, May 19, at 10:00 am.  We’re excited to come together as one large church body to worship God, hear a message from the Word of God, and celebrate baptisms. Bring a chair and join us in the Baker Center parking lot; this special service will replace our normal Sunday schedule. We’ve invited food trucks to join us on site after worship, so we encourage you to stay for lunch and connect with others.

New Summer Worship Schedule

Beginning Sunday, May 26 (Memorial Day weekend), we are going to begin a new summer worship schedule. For 13 weeks during June, July, and August, we will meet just once per hour on Sundays:

  • 8:00 am – Sanctuary (Traditional)
  • 9:30 am – Baker Center (Contemporary)
  • 11:00 am – Sanctuary (Contemporary)

It is important to read the Bible daily, and that is why we offer an annual Bible Reading Plan.  If you have never participated in the plan, we encourage you to join the more than 400 people who use these readings as part of their daily devotions.  If you are not already signed up to receive daily readings to your email inbox, sign up at bible.kingstreetchurch.com.  You can also receive daily text readings by texting DAILY to 717-401-7777.  A paper guide is available in the lobbies or right here:  New Testament 2024 Bible Reading Plan (pdf download)

Weekend Preview Emails

Most weeks, we send out a church email called the Weekend Preview which highlights a key event, ministry, or an element of upcoming worship services.  Often the information shared in this email is not offered elsewhere.  If you would like to receive the Weekend Preview, sign up here or text keyword PREVIEW to (717) 401-7777.
